Kessben To Inspire Knust Students As He Headlines Second Season Of TekTalk

TekTalk, an Education-oriented program by the Student Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology which seeks to inspire students with stories of individuals who have made successes in various fields enters its second season.

Introduced by the 2015/2016 Student Representative Council, TekTalk is a program which is in a short form of a conference with powerful talks that seeks to challenge students who are inspired by the disclosure of speakers stories to make an initiative towards building their purposeful lives.

TekTalk with its introduction has transformed the thinking of many students and participants who have moved on to cause a revolution in their various fields of endeavour after partaking in the event which is organised in a series throughout the first semester of every academic year.

This year, the first event of the second edition will take place at the KNUST Great Hall on October 28 is under the theme ‘The Role of the Youth in Poverty Reduction’ and will see youthful speakers telling stories on how they are working at reducing poverty in their own way.

Speakers for the event include Chief Executive Officer of Kessben Group of Companies, Kwabena Kesse Kessben, Stephen Essien, Acting Director, Tigo Business, Kobbina Awuah, CEO Peakn Investment Capital and award winning founder of Agromindset, David Asiamah.

Speaking to the director of TekTalk, Fred Addo Bempong, he noted that continuing the program their predecessors started was in line with what they stand for as an SRC which is putting the growth of students first in everything they do. He mentioned that TekTalk affords students that rare opportunity to get inspired and network with such big brains which gives them a deeper understanding of the world out of school.

On his part, SRC President for KNUST, Samuel Amoako Kusi mentioned that the SRC is working and will not relent on its effort at ensuring the welfare of students is paramount in all their dealings. He was optimistic that this year’s TekTalk will affect students positively and trigger the entrepreneurial spirit in them.

The Samuel Amoako Kusi led administration has within its short period has executed various projects and programs including Nkaa Akyi, an adult literacy program, established health centers in the various halls of residence, completed the final phase of the SRC hostel and has secured an off campus shuttle for students.
